ESMO24 - Toevoeging van retifanlimab aan chemotherapie verbetert de werkzaamheid bij patiënten met gevorderd anuscarcinoom
Uit de resultaten van de POD1UM-303/InterAACT 2-studie blijkt dat de toevoeging van retifanlimab aan eerstelijnschemotherapie goed werd verdragen en geassocieerd was met een significant betere progressievrije overleving. Daarnaast verbeterden onder andere ook het objectieve responspercentage en de responsduur, zo bleek tijdens het ESMO Congress 2024 uit de presentatie van dr. Sheela Rao (Surrey, Verenigd Koninkrijk). Op grond van de resultaten van de fase 2-InterAACT-studie werd carboplatine plus paclitaxel de standaard eerstelijnsbehandeling bij patiënten met gevorderd plaveiselcelcarcinoom van het anale kanaal (SCAC).1 Ondanks deze behandeling was de progressievrije en algehele overleving (PFS en OS) echter beperkt.
