ANISE-studie evalueert trastuzumab deruxtecan bij oligogemetastaseerde borstkanker
Patiënten met oligogemetastaseerde borstkanker die HER2-positief zijn, zouden kunnen profiteren van behandeling met trastuzumab deruxtecan in combinatie met lokale behandeling van de metastasen. Dat gaat arts-onderzoeker drs. Robbert-Jan Gielen (Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, Amsterdam) uitzoeken in de ANISE-studie. De verwachtingen zijn hoog, met mogelijk zelfs kans op zeer langdurige remissies. Met alle goede behandelingen voor HER2-positieve, gemetastaseerde borstkanker is de hypothese dat dit bij een subgroep van patiënten nagestreefd kan worden. Gemetastaseerde borstkanker is in principe niet meer te genezen, maar met name patiënten met een beperkt aantal uitzaaiingen, ofwel oligogemetastaseerde ziekte, hebben meer kans op lange overleving.
